    All the Students, faculty members and employees of this Campus can register themselves for the membership of the Library. All Students, faculty members are issued ID card. Their entitlement in terms of the number of the books that can be borrowed by them, are as follow:-

    Library Fine Policy:-


    Late fess/Over dues Charges : Rs. 1/- per book will be charged as late fees.


    Payment of Dues: Through Cash/cheque/Net Banking etc. in a specified bank account.


    Maximum fine:Maximum fine per book will be Rs. 1000 or equal to the current cost of the overdue book, whichever is higher.


    Replacement of Book


    1). If the user loses/damages a book, they have to return the exact/latest edition to the VCL with admissible overdue charges and processing fee. The maximum overdue charges will be Rs. 1000/- for books costing more than Rs. 1000/-


    2). A Xerox or photocopy of a book shall not be acceptable in lieu of a printed book.


    3). A paperback or low priced edition will not be accepted in lieu of a hard cover edition.


    4). If the user loses one volume of a multi-volume set and is unable to replace the lost volume, he/she has to pay the cost of the entire set of volume with admissible fines and processing fee.


    5). In case out of print books, minimum of Rs. 1000/- or the publishers price/from renowned website like Amazon etc. whichever is higher plus fine and processing fee. In case of foreign books, the price paid will be calculated in foreign currency and converted to Indian rupees at current rate of conversion.


    6). If the user chooses to replace the book by a second hand copy, the library may accept it or at the discretion of the HOD library considering the book's condition.


    7). In case of loss of rare/valuable books director may impose more fines/disciplinary action in connection with above rules with the recommendation of the Assistant Librarian.

    ABOUT CSU

    Vedavyas Campus of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi is situated in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is a land of pristine natural beauty, pure and perfect, that's why it is called Devbhumi. Politically and geographically, the land faced many upheavels. As a political entity, it came on existence on 15th April 1948, as a Union Territory of India. It was constitited by integrating many similar princely states known as Punjab Hill States. In 1954, some more parts were added, further after reorganization of Punjab in 1966 few more parts were annexed to it. Finally HP was given statehood on 25th January, 1971 with Shimla as its capital.
